After launching the emulator (ensuring that sound is unmuted), allow the Mac OS to boot and then... do nothing. After one minute of inactivity, After Dark will kick in.
This emulated Internet Archive item contains version 2.0 of After Dark, the software that kicked off the screensaver craze of the 1990s. Additionally, the expansions "More After Dark" and "After Dark - Art of Darkness" have been added to the install.
Navigate to the After Dark control panel via the Apple menu where you can change to a different screensaver module, change settings for each, and demo them. Once you have changed screensaver, the bottom left of the screen is configured as a "hot corner" and by placing the mouse cursor there the screensaver will be immediately triggered.
Thank you for the tip, I have updated the description accordingly. :)

In addition to the help provided above, the lower left corner is already configured to be a hot corner to activate the currently-selected screensaver. No need to try to peer around the configuration window in Demo mode.
Hopefully a 256-color emulator image will be added, as some of these look far more spectacular in color.
